Once upon a time, people became aware of the fact that their existence was taking place in very specific places - a household, a workplace... From then on, people decided that such spaces ought to be made hospitable and attractive in order to enjoy them either alone or in good company. They started thus bringing in a variety of bric-a-brac, but all those objects had always something in common: they dressed and embellished one's everyday life. The chosen, unique objects were called mirabilia small wonders...
